Terms of service
Terms of Service — Coaching & Workshops
Paddle Pickers Last updated: 18 August 2026
These terms apply whenever you book private coaching, a corporate/group workshop, or a Paddle Discovery session with Paddle Pickers, whether through our website, WhatsApp, or a quotation. By confirming a booking, you're agreeing to these terms. Please read them alongside our Return & Refund Policy, which covers cancellations and payments in more detail.
1. Who delivers your session
We'll always let you know who's leading your session in advance.
Coaching is available in English by default. Mandarin-language coaching is also available upon request — just mention it when you enquire, and we'll arrange it.
Paddle Discovery sessions are likewise coach-led: a coach shortlists paddles based on how you play and guides you through trying them. We do not rent out paddles on a standalone basis — trying a paddle with us always happens as part of a guided session, not as a separate rental.
2. Bookings, payment, and cancellations
A few basics apply across everything we run:
- A booking is confirmed once we've received the required payment as set out in your quotation or invoice.
- Quotations are valid for 14 days from the date issued. Rates and court availability are subject to change after that.
- We do not charge GST.
- Court bookings made on your behalf — by us, or by your coach — are also subject to the relevant court operator's own terms and conditions, which sit outside our control.
Beyond that, how booking, payment, and cancellation work depends on what you've booked:
Private coaching and Paddle Discovery
- Booking: you and your coach agree on a time and venue together. From there, you can either book the court yourself, or check whether your coach can book it on your behalf. Courts remain subject to availability and the operator's current rate at the time of booking.
- Payment: if your coach books the court for you, the court fee is payable at the time of that booking. The coaching fee itself is normally payable upon session confirmation, to secure your coach's time, unless we've agreed otherwise with you.
- Cancellations: your session can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice. With less notice than that, the session is treated as used and is non-refundable. Full details, including how we handle genuine emergencies, are in our Return & Refund Policy.
- If your coach is unavailable: should your assigned coach be unwell or otherwise unable to make your session, we'll get in touch to work out the best fix — either a replacement coach, or rescheduling to a time that suits you. This is handled separately from the cancellation terms above and doesn't affect your refund eligibility.
Corporate & group workshops
- Booking: court bookings are subject to availability at the time of confirmation, and follow the current booking rate at that time. Weekend court slots fill quickly and are secured as soon as possible after confirmation; weekday, non-peak bookings are more flexible and generally need about 21 days' lead time. Workshop court pricing is quoted separately from private coaching, since court operators require an advance booking fee for group bookings — this is reflected in our $50 court booking service fee.
- Payment: an initial payment of 50% of the workshop package fee, plus the full court booking fee, is due upon confirmation of your quotation. The remaining balance is due on the day of the workshop, upon completion. Courts are only booked once initial payment has been received.
- Cancellations: cancellations made 21 days or more before the event are eligible for a deposit refund. Cancellations made closer to the event date are not, and the court booking service fee is non-refundable once courts are booked, regardless of notice. Full details are in our Return & Refund Policy.
3. Health, fitness, and assumption of risk
Pickleball is a physical activity and carries the normal risks of any racquet sport, including the risk of falls, strains, or collisions.
- By booking a session, you confirm that you (or, for a workshop, each participant your organisation registers) are physically able to take part, and that you'll let us know in advance of any injury, condition, or limitation your coach should be aware of.
- Your participation is voluntary. By booking or taking part in a session, you confirm that you are choosing to take part of your own free will, and you voluntarily assume the risks inherent to pickleball and physical exercise, including the risk of injury from falls, strains, collisions, or equipment.
- You are responsible for your own health and fitness to take part. If you have any pre-existing condition, injury, or concern that could be affected by physical activity, please seek medical clearance before joining a session. By taking part, you agree to indemnify Paddle Pickers against claims arising from your participation, except where the claim arises from Paddle Pickers' own negligence.
- Wear comfortable sports clothing and appropriate court shoes. We provide paddles and balls if you don't have your own. Paddles made available during a session, including a Paddle Discovery session, remain Paddle Pickers' property and are used under coach supervision only — they aren't rented out or taken off-site separately.
- Participants under 18 may only take part with the consent of a parent or guardian, who must accept these terms on the participant's behalf and remain responsible for the booking, payment, and any obligations under these terms. A parent or guardian should be reachable throughout the session.
- Coaches may pause or end a session early if they believe continuing would put a participant's safety at risk. Section 6 of our Return & Refund Policy explains how this affects payment.
4. Code of conduct
We want every session to be welcoming, for a first-timer and a competitive player alike. We ask everyone to treat coaches, court staff, and fellow participants with respect. A coach may end a session early for conduct that's unsafe or disruptive to others; this does not entitle you to a refund for that session.
5. Photography and marketing
We may take photos or short videos during sessions and workshops for use on our website, social media and reviews. If you'd prefer not to be included, just let your coach know before the session starts, and we'll respect that.
If you spot yourself in something we've already published and would rather it came down, let us know, and we'll remove it from our owned channels within a reasonable time.
For details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information — including health and injury details you share with your coach — see our Privacy Policy.
6. Weather and circumstances beyond our control
Wherever possible, we recommend and book sheltered or indoor courts for coaching sessions specifically to keep weather from disrupting your schedule.
That said, court and venue availability aren't always within our control. If a session needs to be rescheduled with 48 hours' notice or more, the standard cancellation terms in Section 2 and our Return & Refund Policy apply as usual — no extra charge, and we'll find a new time together.
If a session needs to be rescheduled or cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, this falls under our standard refund policy and is non-refundable, even where the reason is bad weather or another circumstance outside our control. We factor this into how we choose venues, which is why sheltered and indoor courts are our default recommendation for coaching.
For workshops, court closures or weather affecting an already-confirmed booking are handled per Section 2 and the court operator's own terms, since the underlying court is booked on your behalf.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example as our services or venues change. The version in effect at the time you confirm your booking is the one that applies to that booking. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and any disputes will be handled in the courts of Singapore, unless otherwise required by law.
9. Contact us
